Welcome to Zoë's Paradise Blog

Sandra Wijnveldt was born in 1975. She has a Dutch father and a French mother. She is born in The Hague, the Netherlands, but lived most of her youth abroad together with her parents. Already at a very young age Sandra was involved with animal protection, environmental issues and helping deprived children. At school she was very active, organizing meetings or collecting petitions to e.g. protect the elephants, tigers and whales. When she was 13 she gave a speech to her entire school about how important it is to respect and protect the rain forests. Later she became more involved in saving children from illegal child slavery and child prostitution.

Sandra’s biggest passion is traveling. Not only does she love the adventure of traveling, but also studying different cultures, meeting new people and seeing new environments. She calls it “enriching her senses”; the new tastes, new smells, new sounds, the new things to see and touch... That’s why after finishing her studies she decided to travel by herself to India and Nepal for 2 1/2 months. This was an unforgetable experience, an amazing trip that would stay in her head for the rest of her life. While flying back from Nepal to Europe she made a promise to herself that she would come back to Nepal to help this wonderful country.

Her dream is to travel around the world together with husband Edwin and her daughter Zoë to explore our beautiful planet Earth and meet interesting and dedicated people.
